Knit This Build That

My Favourite Tools

To keep from adding a link for specific tools each post, I am going to list my favourite power tools here. I am a big fan of Ryobi One+. I have been working on my collection for over a year now and it is looking pretty good. I love the 1/2″ drill and impact driver combo set. It’s hard to beat, especially if you can snag a set on sale. It comes with two batteries and a charger. Changing a battery, if necessary, isn’t bad, but changing a bit can be annoying when you drill, change, drive, change, drill, change, and so on. You get the idea. I just prepare by ensuring that both batteries are full and I have no issues. Of course, I have other batteries too, but always starting a job with a full battery for each tool is plain common sense. I love my Ryobi sanders too, but they use up a battery in no time, so be prepared for that. However, the batteries charge very quickly, so if you need to take a little break, then you aren’t going to be inconvenienced for long. I could not do without my Ryobi AirStrike. It has been a game changer. I absolutely love it. I built a coffee table with just my nail gun other than glue and the hardware. My only complaint is that it can get heavy after a while for a small woman and you really need to maintain accuracy if you are nailing into a 3/4″ board, for example. Taking a nail out is not fun. That is my simple run down of my favourites. Please comment with what you find works best for you. We are all different, so different tools are available to meet our individual needs. I admit that I also love the look of the Ryobi. I have no affiliation with Ryobi, though. All the tools that I use, I have bought myself or they have been gifts – just not from Ryobi.

My other favourite tool that I would never give up is my Kreg jig. This little guy is amazing! It completely changed how I was able to build furniture. It’s because of my Kreg jig (again no affiliation just a lot of appreciation) that I was able to build bigger and better furniture projects. It has given me a major advantage, and has helped to boost my confidence. I can’t recommend it enough, and I don’t even have the fancy one.
