Lovely Knitted Cowl for a Chilly Canadian Winter

I hadn’t picked up my needles in more than just a few years and after spending quite a bit of time at Ravelry.com, I chose the Autopilot Cowl by Dominique Trad. I was looking for something simple that would also produce a warm garment for our chilly winter weather in Canada. The Autopilot cowl is a very easy and lovely pattern. It was very relaxing to knit, just as it was designed to be – hence the name of the pattern. I used a worsted weight (4) acrylic yarn for ease of washing. It knitted up very quickly. The yarn that I chose was Brava Worsted by Knit Picks in Cream. My needles are 5.5mm Knit Picks Interchangeable Needles in Caspian.

For this project, you will also need a stitch marker, scissors, crochet hook (in case of dropped stitches) and a tapestry needle.

After I finished this cowl, I knew that I needed a new hat to match (foreshadowing). I also enjoyed the pattern so much that I knitted two more in different colours. What can I say? I’m a Gemini. This simple project really was a great refresher.
